Michael Dillon-Lee killed on 01/06/1990 aged 34 Off duty. A RA Major, Mike was shot at his home, Dortmund, West Germany by the IRA. Mrs Dillon-Lee recalled the night of 1 June 1990. They had been to a party. Major Dillon-Lee, 35, was battery commander of the 32nd Heavy Regiment Royal Artillery stationed in Dortmund. As the major got out of his Volvo at their home she heard a shout. Before there was time to react, she heard five or six shots and saw a man holding what looked like a Kalashnikov. The killer was stocky. 'He was wearing a balaclava with the eyeholes cut out. And dark clothes, something like the uniform a soldier wears.' He pointed the gun at her but said nothing, then he ran off, leaping into a getaway car.

He was from from Bournemouth. Sean Hick (33), from Co Dublin, and Donna Maguire (27) and Paul Hughes (30) both from Newry, Co Down-were acquitted in Dusseldorf of murdering him (1993). The AK-47 rifle that killed Dillon-Lee was also used to murder Mick Islania, an RAF corporal, and his six-month-old daughter.

Brian Lawrence killed on 17/06/1991 aged 34 Pte, Off duty, F Coy, 7-10 UDR. Shot dead by the IRA as he parked his car at his civilian work place at Duncrue Street. Belfast. The gunmen fired 12 shots and Brian was hit seven times. The car used in the attack had been hi-jacked and the owners house taken over. He was married Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR)

John Lyness killed on 24/06/1993 aged 57

He was shot outside his home, Lime Grove, Lurgan, County Armagh by the IRA. Despite seeing his killers approach after he parked his car and drawing his personal protection weapon the two gunmen shot first. He had left the UDR only a year before having served for 20 years and was working for the local council.

In 1993 Colin Duffy was charged with the murder and convicted only to be freed on appeal. Duffy's solicitor, Rosemary Nelson, was killed by loyalists in 1999

John Wesley Millikin killed on 22/06/1977 aged 57 joined the Northern Ireland Prison Service in July 1960 and served for almost 17 years until his murder on 22 June 1977. He last served in Belfast prison as a Principal Officer. Shot from passing car shortly after leaving Crumlin Road Prison, Belfast by the IRA. At his funeral service, he was described as "a devoted member of the church and an exemplary prison officer". He was survived by his wife and child. Prison Officer (PO)
