Was 23 and single (but was engaged to be married in April 1991). From Bangor Road, Newtownards but originally from London. He joined the UDR after serving with the Royal Higland Fusiliers. John was married with 2 children. Graham Dennis Cox killed on 29/04/1973 aged 19

He was hit by a burst of gunfire from an IRA gunman while on mobile patrol, New Lodge Road, Belfast. He was hit in the chest while in his Land Rover and died almost instantly. They had slowed down for ramps laid to prevent loyalist bombers entering the Catholic area. These ramps were promptly removed at 5am the next morning. Single, Marine Cox was from Emsworth, Hampshire.

Nicholas Hull killed on 16/04/1972 aged 22 2 Lt Hull served in the 3rd Bn, Royal Anglian Regiment. Shot by sniper while in an Armoured Personnel Carrier at Durham Street, Lower Falls, Belfast. A bullet, thought to be from the Divis Street area, passed inside the "pig" he was in via the observation slit. His brother was a Cpl in the Regiment's 2nd Bn. The official IRA claimed he was shot in retaliation for the death of their Belfast leader, Joe McCann. British Army (BA)

Norman McKenzie killed on 11/04/1974 aged 25 Driver McKenzie, who was attached to the Royal Tank Regiment, was killed when a landmine exploded under his Landrover, the second of a two vehicle patrol. Michael Newman killed on 14/04/1992 aged 34 Shot by the the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) shortly after leaving a British Army recruiting office, Derby, England. He was a Sergeant in the Royal Signal Corps. He had never served in Ulster and was not wearing uniform. The 34-year-old was taken to intensive care at Derbyshire Royal Infirmary but his life support machine was switched off the following morning. Joseph Magee, was jailed for 25 years in 2004, after pleading guilty to Sgt Newman's murder on the understanding he would be released two years later under the Good Friday Agreement. Agnes Jean Wallace killed on 19/04/1979 aged 40 Officer Wallace joined the Northern Ireland Prison Service in January 1979 and was murdered just over three months later by the INLA. Mrs Wallace and three female colleagues had just left the prison when shots were fired and a hand grenade thrown from a passing car. All four women were injured in the attack and Mrs Wallace died at the scene. She was the first female Prison Officer to be killed since the start of the ‘troubles’. Fred Wilson killed on 11/04/1980 aged 43 Killed by a single bullet fired at close range by a pillion passenger on a passing motor bike while he walked along Franklin Street in the Markets area of Belfast. Off duty at the time he was talking to his Housing Executive colleagues. The IRA are said to believe he was a UDR soldier. He was a reserve, married with 2 children. Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC)
